A Night of Light, with You

We’ll sit all night to see the fireflies fill the air. Like a shower of confetti, swirling. Till morning greets us, without a care.

Poem - A Night of Light, with You

As the sun drifts down and the moon rises,
a little world opens, full of surprises.

Tonight the fireflies come out,
from their hiding places.
Soon they will crown this tree,
light shimmering through the spaces.

To twinkle high among the branches,
on their invisible wings, they soar.
While some dance around in a circle,
around the tree trunk’s core.

We’ll sit all night to see
the fireflies fill the air.
Like a shower of confetti, swirling.
Till morning greets us, without a care.

A flash here.
A sparkle there.
Some drift lazily while others,
are too fast, to pinpoint where.
Tirelessly through the night,
they dazzle everywhere.

Fireflies flickering through the night,
beneath the canopy of trees.
Tiny lanterns all in flight,
and the soft evening breeze.

With the living lights gleaming around,
it feels like magic’s in the air.
I shall cherish, forever and ever,
This incredible experience, shared.
