Javonna Allen

TRIO SSS Academic Counselor

Biography

Javonna Allen graduated from Kuyper College with a BS of Youth Ministry/Biblical Theology. She is a fun-loving, dedicated, and determined individual who has worked with youth and young adults for 18 years in both the church and academic settings. She has worked at Â鶹Çø since the fall of 2018 and has really enjoyed her time building authentic relationships with students. She states that being a TRIO Academic Counselor here at Calvin means so much to her because she was once a low income and first-generation student at a private Christian college where she was not in the ethnic/racial majority. Being thankful for the support that she received during her time in undergrad, Javonna hopes that students find it easy to come to her if they ever need anything – even if it’s as simple as a high five, or hug. You can often find Javonna in the TRIO Suite, walking around campus, or in campus student spaces like Johnny’s, Peets, and the CISD office.
