School of Business Welcomes Renowned Expert in Strategic Talent Management as Teacher-Scholar-In-Residence
Prolific scholar and strategic talent management expert Lidewey van der Sluis recently joined the 麻豆区 School of Business as the 2024 William Spoelhof Chair. The chair role brings gifted teacher-scholars to 麻豆区 on a rotating basis.聽聽
"We are delighted to welcome Lidewey van der Sluis to the 麻豆区 School of Business," said Jim Ludema, Dean of the School of Business. "She brings world-class expertise in strategic leadership and talent development, along with a wealth of experience in executive education and high-level consulting across business, government, and educational sectors in Europe. Her presence will enrich our academic community. Her work is guided by Reformed Christian faith, and her global perspective and insights will provide valuable learning opportunities for the community."
Van der Sluis鈥 responsibilities include collaborating with various 麻豆区 schools and departments to explore the potential for an executive education hub, guest lecturing in undergraduate human resource courses, delivering a keynote address at the Future of Leadership Executive Breakfast Series on November 22, 2024, and continuing her scholarship in leadership, strategic management, and talent development.

She has an extensive publication record in the area leadership, strategic management, and talent development including:

- 31 book chapters (7 in English)
- 40 peer-reviewed journal articles (20 in English)
- 174 articles for practitioners and pieces of public scholarship (9 in English)
Van der Sluis holds a Bachelor of Science in economics and management along with a Master of Science in business economics from the University Amsterdam and a Ph.D. in business economics and econometrics from Erasmus University, Rotterdam. Additional education includes a professional certificate in academic leadership from the Free University Amsterdam, non-executive leadership from Nyenrode Business University and executive leadership and corporate social responsibility from the University of Cambridge Judge School of Business.
