Women's History Month at Calvin
Calvin College will offer a variety of events in March as part of a celebration of Women's History Month, including a new film series and several lectures. A pair of talks by Calvin professors promise to be among the highlights for the month.
On March 10 Calvin professor of sociology Michelle Loyd-Paige will look at early African American women preachers in a talk titled "The Daughters of Thunder." Interestingly Loyd-Paige is herself a minister of the gospel who serves at Faith, Hope and Love Christian Center in Muskegon.
And on March 22 Calvin English professor Jennifer Holberg will shed light on another set of female pioneers: the women who served their country in World War II.
