Faith and Learning Collaboration: Democracy and Education

What is democracy? What is the role of education in a democratic society? And what does it mean for Christians to support democracy and education in our contemporary context?

This event, Democracy and Education: An Introduction, is the first in a series of presentations and discussions planned for the spring. Joel Westra (Politics and Economics) and John Walcott (Education) will each give a brief presentation on foundational issues and questions surrounding the role of democracy and education in contemporary society. The presentations will be followed by a time for questions and for discussion among those in attendance.
