You鈥檒l note that attendance and class participation is worth 10 percent. Needless to say class participation is tough to accomplish without being in attendance. So the two go hand-in-hand. To some 10 percent may seem high. However, in the worlds of PR and advertising there are a lot of opportunities for collaboration: meetings, brainstorming sessions and the like.

Here's a subhead

Not showing up for a meeting isn鈥檛 really an option, at least not a very good option. And generally the assumption is that if you鈥檝e been invited to a meeting, it鈥檚 because someone thought your contributions would be of value, so contributing is usually an expectation. Please then consider attendance and participation in CAS 285 a small taste of what will hopefully be true for you in your career as well. The same would be true of punctuality; please do not come late to class.
